If you are wondering what it takes to make such an impact in such a short amount of living then keep reading, this shoe represents what set Nipsey Hussle aside from anyone else.

These shoes are also restorations, meaning they were NOT brand new when I received them. To be honest my friend had them in prison and told me to do my best with them when he got out. This was about the time Nipsey Hussle passed away so the inspiration was just falling into place...I love when I have free range on customs!

I wanted to set these shoes up with a couple Nipsey portraits to draw everyone's attention in. At first I was going to jump all in with shading and full detail...BUT... after drawing the line work I decided less is more and loved the simple but effective look. Royal blue of course matches the shoe and Nipsey Hussles Rollin 60s crip affiliation.

The outline gets the Nipsey Hussle custom shoe point across but of course we have to go a little deeper. Crenshaw is the nieghborhood Nipsey Hussle was raised in, which is why you will see this logo on his clothing company, album covers, and now this custom shoe.

I blended the LA skyline for obvious reasons. Nipsey Hussle may have died but the positive perspective I pull out of the situation is that his passing escalated his notoriety so much in one day that he will go down as an LA legend forever. Not just an ordinary icon either... This man hustled his ass off then used his own money to reinvest towards buying his neighborhood...yeah ... this man wanted to buy a NEIGHBORHOOD and bring opportunity to people.
Hearing about doing such big things for your city only sounds like a dream to me, but Nipsey has you questioning wtf you are doing with your day once you realize how obtainable these goals may be. Hussle and Motivate for real.
Now if you take a closer look and notice the royal blue doves flying in the background, this bring things a little deeper because they represent letting Nipseys soul go free and letting his words/ movement grow like they have done so much already.

“I’m prolific, so gifted
I’m the type that’s gon’ go get it, no kiddin”
These are some of the opening lyrics from Nipseys song "Victory Lap''. That line alone always stands out to me. Relating to having the talent to produce with the drive to go get the results you seek... pretty deep, yeah I know! Shits fire doe.

This part of the shoe (toe box) I decided to hand write the word prolific to resemble the tattoo on Nipseys face, and to also represent one of my favorite lines he wrote. I also felt this kind of helped give the shoe a little more of a tattooed LA feel which is obviously important to the vibe of this sneaker.

A little unusual to see two different laces on one shoe right? Well I have so much to represent and only so much sneaker to do it on!
Nipsey was open about his Rollin 60s crip affiliation, but his death actually unified both Bloods and Crips in a peaceful manner to grieve while hopefully inspiring gangs to stop the violent circle that is repeated every day.
I wanted to incorporate a blue bandanna into the shoe somewhere but wanted it in a subtle manner that wouldn't end up redirecting your focus. These laces are easily found on Amazon and are also 3m.
So what's up with the gold strings near the tongue?...Nipsey Hussle spoke highly about investing and owning your own shit. Fancy Chains, Cars, and Clothes are all that your typical rapper focuses on it seems, but Nip spoke about buying real estate first and seemed to be focused on a bigger picture that developed pretty nicely for him. The gold "strings" represent the gold chains he put on hold while he started building himself something greater.

At first you see RIP Nipsey Hussle posts here and there, pretty soon I am seeing custom shoes dedicated to paying respect to this rapper, next it's huge graffiti murals that must have taken hours if not days to paint dedicated to an LA rapper? This went viral so quick and it seemed to hit many people hard. For someone with such power and positive influence to leave us so early really does hit hard. A simple Google search for Nipsey Hussle quotes could easily give you enough inspiration to want to better yourself and your community. Which is exactly what this man was doing with his time.
Nipsey Hussle died at 33 years old, but in his relatively short time managed to build respect, financial freedom, and a legacy.
Will his shoes ever be filled..? Or will he go down with Pac and Biggie? I dedicate this shoe to Nipsey Hussle, may you Rest In Peace.
